How does the Lumina Tag work without cell service?

Lumina uses LoRa based mesh networking to communicate over long distances without cell service or Wi Fi. Each Tag can send data to nearby Tags, which relay it across the network, allowing you to send messages, share your location, and stay connected with friends. The more Lumina users around you, the stronger and more connected the network becomes.

What is the range?

Typically 3 mi (5km), Range depends on terrain and obstacles. In open areas, messages can travel several miles or kilometres. In dense forests or urban areas, range may be shorter. However, messages hop through other Lumina Tags in the mesh to extend range.

How long does the battery last?

Battery life depends on usage. With normal messaging, your device should last 2-4 days.

Heavy use with frequent location sharing will drain the battery faster. You'll get a low battery alert when it's time to charge.

Are the Tags waterproof?

The Lumina Tag is IP65-rated and built for festival life. It's dust-tight and protected against water jets, so it can handle rain, splashes, dirt, and the chaos of a festival. It’s designed to be durable enough for wherever the adventure takes you.
