Where Lumina Began
The idea for Lumina was born at a desert art and music event in Nevada.
In an environment defined by creativity, exploration, and radical self-reliance, connection takes on a new form. Face-to-face conversation is possible, but anything that relies on a phone disappears. Changing plans, tracking down friends, coordinating resources, or letting others know you're safe all become unexpectedly difficult.
Without cellular coverage across miles of open space, coordination breaks down. Plans unravel. Time is spent searching and worrying instead of experiencing.
What stood out wasn't just the lack of signal—it was the absence of a tool built for coordination, safety, and peace of mind in these moments. Lumina was created to fill that gap, not only for festivals but for anywhere people move beyond coverage.
